Administrative Infrastructure

Administrative Core provides the organizational framework for the SDRC and in a very real sense is its nerve center. It serves to coordinate and integrate all Center functions; provide rigorous and regular fiscal oversight of the other Core facilities and the Pilot and Feasibility studies; offers sound advice to the Director and Associate Director regarding all aspects of the Center's activities and assists in assuring that the Enrichment Program functions effectively. This Core provides the major infrastructure of the SDRC and is designed to ensure the most efficient utilization of the Center's resources. The members of the Executive Committee and the External and Internal Advisory Committees consist of talented and experienced research scientists capable of providing superior oversight and direction to the Center. The aims of the Administrative Core are: To broaden the scope of skin diseases research at Columbia; To assure prudent fiscal and administrative management of the resources provided to the SDRC; To maximize the efficiency of the Core facilities to assure appropriate utilization; To foster the development of a highly innovative Pilot and Feasibility (P&F) Program; To create a strong Enrichment Program; To provide an environment conducive to research training; To promote efficient technology transfer.
